Ingredients

    3/4 cup chopped onion
    1/2 cup chopped red bell pepper
    1 lb lean ground beef (chuck or round)
    1 (14.5 oz) can crushed tomatoes
    2 tbsp tomato paste
    1 tbsp prepared mustard
    1 tsp chili powder
    2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/2 tsp sugar
    1/2 tsp dried oregano
    1/2 tsp black pepper
    12 Kaiser rolls, split

Directions

Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add first 3 ingredients; cook until beef is browned, stirring to crumble. Stir in tomatoes and next 8 ingredients (crushed tomatoes through black pepper); reduce heat to medium low. Cover and cook 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Spoon 1/4 cup beef mixture over bottom half of each roll. Cover with top half. Makes 12 sandwiches using 1/4 cup filling for each.
