Scrumptious Whole Wheat Banana Bread

Ingredients

1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 cup sugar
2 eggs, slightly beaten
3 medium bananas, mashed
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 tsp soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/3 cup hot water
1 cup mini chocolate chips (optional)
1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Directions
Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs and
bananas; mix until smooth. Blend dry ingredients
together, and add alternately with hot water. Fold in
chocolate chips or walnuts if desired.
Pour batter into 9" x 5" loaf pan. Bake at 325 F for
1 hour and 10 min, or until center tests done. Cool
in pan 5 minutes -- turn out on rack and cool for 20
minutes. Place in plastic bag to cool completely.
