Submitted by: LADYPHOENIX61

Introduction

Another one for All My Children's team.
Since Petey's been working out he needs to eat healthier and because he's become fast friends with Randi the chocolate in this recipe's perfect for him. The cherries will match his cherry red cheeks and the nuts are for Palmer and Opal!

Ingredients

    1 cup whole wheat flour
    1/4 cup cocoa powder
    1/2 tsp baking soda
    1/4 tsp salt
    1/2 stick unsalted butter, softened
    1/4 cup Country Crock spread
    1/2 cup sugar

Whisk together flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt in a medium bowl.
Place butter and CC spread in mixing bowl. Using an electric mixer, beat butter mixture until fluffy, about 1 minute. Blend in both sugars followed by eggs and vanilla. Add flour and mix until well blended. Fold in cherries, chocolate chips and nuts.
Drop onto greased baking sheet by tablespoonfuls spacing about 2 inches apart. Bake 10 minutes. Remove from oven and let cookies cool slightly before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
