Elegant Cherry Pork Chops

For National Cherry Month. Taken from the National Pork Board's "State Fair" cookbook.
The original recipe has 2335 calories per serving. By using boneless pork chops and Lucky Leaf No Sugar Added Cherry Pie Filling, calories are drastically reduced! Great with roasted veggies and a wild rice pilaf! SLOW COOKER

Ingredients

    4 boneless pork chops, cut about 3/4 inch thick
    Black pepper
    1 16 oz can no sugar added cherry pie filling
    1 tsp Knorr instant chicken bouillon granules
    1 tsp lemon juice
    1/4 tsp ground mace or nutmeg

Directions

Sprinkle pork chops with black pepper. Brown in a large skillet on medium high heat about 3 minutes per side.
In slow cooker stir together cherry pie filling, chicken bouillon granules, lemon juice and ground mace(or nutmeg). Place the browned chops on top of the cherry mixture.
Cover and cook on the low heat setting 5 hours or until chops are tender.
Place on serving plate and pour some of the cherry sauce on top.
