Turkey Bown Rice Ole`

Introduction

I decided to make a previous recipe a bit healthier. I originally used 1.5 lbs of extra lean ground beef, this time I thought I would try it with 93% lean ground turkey. It definately brought down the Caloric value. I decided to make a previous recipe a bit healthier. I originally used 1.5 lbs of extra lean ground beef, this time I thought I would try it with 93% lean ground turkey. It definately brought down the Caloric value.
Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    1 lb. ground turkey 93% lean
    4 Cups chopped green bell pepper
    1.25 Cup chopped Onion
    1 Tbls Garlic Powder
    1 Tbls Curry Powder
    1 Tbls Paprika
    1.75 Cup Water
    2 Cup Thick and Chunky salsa
    2 Cup Instant Brown Rice

Directions

In a Large Skillet brown ground turkey, drain if any grease. Add Bell peppers and onion cook for approx. 10 min. or until bell peppers are slightly tender. Remove Ground turkey mixture and set aside. Using the same skillet add water and Salsa, bring to a boil add brown rice bring to a boil, cover and simmer for approx. 5 min. Combine the Ground turkey mixture with rice and mix well.

Makes 8 one cup servings
