Fried cabbage

Ingredients

    1 small head of cabbage, chopped
    1/2 medium onion, chopped
    2 cloves garlic, chopped
    1 tbs butter
    salt and pepper to taste

Directions

Melt the butter in a skillet.
Saute the onion and garlic until tender.
Add the cabbage and saute until tender crisp.
Season with salt and pepper.

This is great served with mashed or boiled potatoes.

  • The butter kind of kills it for the healthy part, but if you use something like Farmer Boy Greek salad dressing or olive oil instead, it makes a HUGE difference. I also find that 1 TBSP just isn't enough to properly do the job. Mix the cabbage with mashed potatoes for sure. Yum! - 3/15/07
