Submitted by: MOMMYCANDOITNumber of Servings: 8
Ingredients
-
1 1/2 c warm water (115degrees)
2 packets dry yeast
1/4c plus some extra for the bowl olive oil
2 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons salt
2 cups all purpose flour
2 cups whole wheat flour
Directions
Makes enough for 2 pies. Serving is 2 slices. Cook time actually needs rising time, which is about 1 hr, but it wouldn't let me write that in. Use one and freeze the other. Add toppings. Enjoy.
1. Place water in a large bowl; spinkle with yeast. Let stand until foamy about 5 min. Brush another large bowl with oil.
2. In bowl with yeast, whisk sugar, oil, and salt. Stir in flours with a wooden spoon until a sticky dough forms. Transfer to oiled bowl; brush top of doigh with oil. Cover bowl with plastic wrap let stand in a warm spot until doigh has doibled in size, about 1 hour.
3. Turn dough out onto a well-floured surface. With floured hands, knead wuntil smooth, about 15 seconds; divide into two balls.
