Meatballs and Sauce

Introduction

This recipe was a great hit with our kids as they were growing up. It was also fast and easy to fix in an evening OR to have simmering in a crockpot. Also great for parties. Fabulous as leftovers. Ingredients

    SAUCE:
    2 cups ketchup
    1 cup brown sugar
    1/2 tsp. liquid smoke
    1/2 tsp. garlic powder
    1/3 cup chopped onions

    MEATBALLS:
    3 llbs. lean or extra lean ground beef
    1 cup evaporated milk (skim)
    1 cup oatmeal
    1 cup crackers (saltines)
    2 eggs
    1/2 cup onion
    1/2 tsp. garlic powder
    1 tsp salt (optional)
    1 tsp. pepper
    2 tsp. chili powder

Directions

Mix all sauce ingredients and pour of meatballs.

MEATBALLS: Mix ingredients and then form meatballs. Place in 13X9X2 inch pan. Again pour sauce over raw meatballs (whether fixing that evening or in a crockpot on low simmering all day long). If baking, bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until done. ENJOY!
