Introduction

Sweet and tangy, this chicken takes less than five minutes to prep! Sweet and tangy, this chicken takes less than five minutes to prep!
Number of Servings: 4

Ingredients

    1 1/2 tsp of dried thyme
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/4 tsp black pepper
    1 tsp olive oil
    1lb chicken breast
    2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
    2 tbsp honey

Directions

Combine first 3 ingredients; sprinkle over both sides of chicken.

Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken; cook 7 to 8 minutes on each side or until chicken is done.

Transfer chicken to a platter; keep warm. Reduce heat to medium-low; add vinegar and honey to pan. Simmer 1 minute or until glaze thickens; stir constantly. Pour glaze over chicken. Yield: 4 servings (serving size: 1 chicken breast half).

    Great flavor and so easy! I thought the glaze tasted a little like a honey barbecue. Yum! I served it with whole-wheat couscous (prepared with chicken broth, scallions, garlic, curry powder, and a tiny bit of chopped dried apricots and cranberries) and steamed broccoli.     i made this last night! my glaze never got thick but it was still awesome and i added some more seasonings to the chicken, some oregano, sage, garlic, seasoning salt. but it was really really good. even my teen "said mom, i think this is the best chicken i ever tasted" so this is going on the list! - 4/19/09

    soo good! I doubled the amount of sauce and in stead of using the skillet, i cooked it in the oven on 350 for 20 minutes, then i added some sauce, then 10 more minutes. - 1/2/12

    It was very easy to make and the proportions were just right. I didn't have any thyme so I used Italian seasoning and it turned out great. The only thing I noticed is that as the glaze sits, it gets thicker (for those wondering why it's so runny). Delicious! - 10/19/09

    Delicious! I forgot Balsamic Vinegar at the store :( and substituted Rice Vinegar instead. Still turned out great. The honey really makes the chicken sweet. Kids will LOVE this recipe. - 4/28/09

    Although a bit too sweet for my tastes, my roommate (who has a sweet-tooth!) raved about it. The thyme was the best part of this dish IMO, and I may try cutting the honey in half next time.

    Made this recipe as is. Didn't have high expectations because it seemed so simple, but it was delicious. My DH gives it a 4.75 out of 5, which is the highest he's rated any of the recipes I've tried from here so far. Tastes kinda like honey garlic sauce you put on Chinese spare ribs. Yummy! - 6/3/10

    We love this recipe! It has so much flavor and the chicken stays tender. Best of all it's fast! I like to make extra sauce because we love the sauce so much. Just be careful not to over cook the sauce as it tends to harden. - 9/1/09

    The olive oil wasn't really enough to cook the chicken in, mine burnt a bit, and added a bit more honey to even out the vinegar taste, but it was a pretty decent dish overall. Next time will make more glaze, as I like to dip. And either bake the chicken or use way more olive oil. - 4/17/09

    I cooked this last night and it was great! I grilled the chicken breast on my bbq and then drizzled the glaze on top, easy with little clean up and served it with mixed fresh vegies and steemed rice. Great receipe. - 4/11/09
