Low Carb Chili

Submitted by: CINDYSUE48

Number of Servings: 11

Ingredients

    1 pound ground beef,
1 pound spicy sausage (bulk-type, I prefer Bass Farm spicy),
    1/2 cup green peppers, chopped,
    1 cup onion, chopped,
1 cup celery, sliced or diced,
    3 garlic cloves,
    1 tsp salt,
    4 Tablespoon Chili powder,
1 Tablespoon dried red pepper (cayenne),
3 1/2 cups Canned diced tomatoes,
3 1/2 cups Canned crushed tomaotes,
1 small can Tomato paste (1/2 cup)

Directions

In skillet, brown hamburg and sausage. Drain.
Place meat and all other ingredients in crock pot.
Cook on low for 8-10hrs.

This usually makes about 11 cups. Serving size is 1 cup. Top with grated cheese, mexican blend.

Freezes well. Can be doubled

**If you use a sausage that isn't spicy, slightly increase the chili powder and red peppers.

  • This is great! Nice and thick and hearty! The way a good chili should be! I used Ground bison for a leaner meat. - 6/7/12

  • It was good, and I used the Ground red pepper - only because of a preference of ground over the pepper flakes. You can also add more spice to this chili if you like it hotter - this recipe is easy to work with and to "re-create" to your liking - it is very versitile - 6/25/07

  • I liked it but the directions should clarify whether "dried red pepper" means ground or flakes. Big difference in spiciness! - 3/21/07
