Skillet Green Beans and Beef

Ingredients

1 lb green beans, 4-5 cups
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 crushed garlic clove
1/2 lb. lean ground beef
1 1/2 cups sliced mushrooms
1/2 cup water
3 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp cornstarch
1/4 tsp salt
pinch of black pepper
1/2 tsp dill weed
Directions
Saute onion, garlic and ground beef until meat loses its pink colour. Add mushrooms and water to pan and bring to a boil. Stir soy sauce with cornstarch and seasonings until fairly smooth, then stir into meat mixture along with dried dill. Add green beans. Cook over medium-high heat until vegetables are done. Serve with hot rice.
This dish is also excellent made with ground bison, a much leaner/lower calorie meat.
