Wheat Penne with Parmesan and Walnuts

Submitted by: CJNSYNC

Introduction

I have been putting off grocery shopping for awhile, so I threw all this together for a quick dinner. Yum! I love walnuts, so they make almost anything taste great to me. The fat is a little high due to the nuts but it's good fat.

*If you're watching your salt I did not include the garlic salt in the nutritional calculation, so add that separately based on how much you use.

Ingredients

4 oz Ronzoni Whole Wheat Penne Rigate
    2 tbsp grated parmesan cheese
    1/2 tsp olive oil
1/3 cup walnuts (pieces or chips)
    1 pat of butter
    Garlic salt to taste
    Italian seasoning to taste

Directions

Bring water to a boil and add the pasta. While that's cooking, heat the olive oil in a frying pan and add the walnuts. Heat for about 5-10 minutes on low, flipping often so they don't burn. When the pasta is done, drain it and add it to the walnuts in the frying pan. Add butter and cheese and mix it around to coat the noodles evenly. Sprinkle Italian seasoning and garlic salt on top to taste. Makes 2 servings.
