swedish meatballs
Submitted by: LOULOU27Introduction
calorie wise, protein wise... all so wise (hum...) (see the nutritional informations)I went to Ikea and saw into one of their recipe books that their meatballs were not done with crumbled bread but potato puree. This makes very tender meatballs.
I adapted the recipe. Everybody will like them. As they are not dry, no need of a heavy gravy to swallow them. calorie wise, protein wise... all so wise (hum...) (see the nutritional informations)

Number of Servings: 4
Ingredients
-
1 lb lean ground veal
half a cup of potato puree
1/2 small onion (grated)
Allspice (3/4 teaspoon)
salt (as you wish, but at least a little bit)
Directions
Cook potatoes and make a puree (with nothing else than... potatoes).
Now, put the veal into a bowl and add 3/4 of teaspoon of allspice, the salt, pepper if you wish. Add the potatoe purée, and grind the onion on the meat. Add the egg. Then puree the whole thing until all ingredients are perfectly mixed. Make meatballs (result is 16 meatballs).
Cook with butter in your skillet. Cook at a pretty high temperature first, then simmer down and cover for 4 minutes.
Serves 4 people (4 meatballs each)
