Katie's campfire stew

Submitted by: WHISKERS12189

Introduction

My step-daughter and my husband decided to cook dinner for me tonight, and this was the dish they made. You can add the veggies you like, and completely customize this for everybody's tastes! Note: Recipe description is for 1 packet/serving... but can easily be multiplied! Can be baked in oven, or in a campfire. Ingredients

6 ounces ground beef, 90% lean or better
    1/2 cup chopped parsnips,
    1/3 cup chopped onions
    1/3 cup diced potatoes
4-5 baby carrots, each cut in half.

Directions

take a large sheet of heavy duty aluminum foil, which will become packet/ serving dish for stew.

In center of foil, crumble beef. Layer with veggies. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Fold foil into packet, by folding bottom up and over, then top, and finally folding the two sides. Poke top of packets with fork, to allow steam to vent. Place in oven at 350 degrees and bake until fort-tender.
