5 Minute Chocolate Mug Cake (w/Stevia)

Submitted by: BREES25

Number of Servings: 1

Ingredients

    4 tablespoons flour
    1/4 teaspoon stevia powder
    2 tablespoons cocoa
    2 egg whites
    3 tablespoons nonfat milk
    3 tablespoons unsweetened applesauce
A small splash of vanilla extract
    1 large coffee mug (MicroSafe)

Directions

Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well. Add the egg whites and mix thoroughly.
Pour in the milk and applesauce and mix well..
Add the vanilla extract, and mix again.
Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts.
The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed!
Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.
EAT! (this can serve 2 if you want to feel slightly more virtuous).
And why is this the most dangerous cake recipe in the world?
Because now we are all only 5 minutes away from chocolate cake at any time
of the day or night!

I used Dark chocolate cocoa powder and 2% milk. I still needed 1/2 cup of ice cream to complete my desert, but it settled my chocolate craving and I was HAPPY to find the recipe because I think Stevia is the only way to go when it comes to substitues! :) - 6/28/10

  • I used one whole egg instead of two egg whites, I also used whole wheat flour and some baking powder to make it fluffy. It was good but I would need to add a little more Stevia for my taste, or maybe next time I'll try fruit sugar instead.
But it sure did kill my craving for cookies or cake!! - 6/4/13

  • Made it as recipe called for, and I think I'll add a little more Stevia next time, but will definitely cure a chocolate craving. - 4/3/11

  • It was okay-- will tide you over if you're REALLY craving chocolate cake, and since you just make one serving at a time you don't have left overs to tempt you later. - 4/15/09

I agree with you totally. The "full fat" version wasn't much more appealing to me either. This will fill the craving when I get it.

  • I've gotten this recipe before, but it was different. It had whole eggs, sugar, and whole milk. I'm so glad you changed it, and also because I've wanted to try Stevia instead of sugar. - 4/6/09
