Mushroom Cheese Sauce

Introduction

Ingredients

    ~~~~~~ Basic Sauce~~~~~
    3 TBS Flour
    1 cup 1% skim milk
    1 cup fat free liquid creamer
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    2 oz shredded fat free cheese
    (jalapeno jack from trader joe's counted)
    8 oz mushrooms thinly sliced and sauteed
    1 small onion sliced and sauteed

Directions

Place flour in a medium non stick saucepan. Gradually whisk in milk until smooth. Add creamer. Cook over meium heat, whisking constantly for about 5 minutes, or until sauce thickens. Season with salt and pepper if desired.

In medium non-stick skillet, saute mushrooms and onions until moisture is released, and slightly golden, and add to basic sauce recipe.

Makes 2 cups - counted as 8 - 1/4 cup servings
