Ingredients

    D O U G H
    2 c. whole wheat flour
    1 c. white flour
    1 pkg. yeast
    1 tbsp. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    2 tbsp. olive oil
    1 2/3 c. warm water

    T O P P I N G
    2 tbsp. olive oil
    2 tbsp. shredded parmesan cheese
    1 tbsp. Italian seasoning
    1/2 tsp. garlic salt

Directions

For the dough, mix together all dry ingredients in a large bowl. Add olive oil and water and mix until well incorporated. Spread dough into a greased 9x13 pan. Cover with towel and let rise until doubled (approx. 20 minutes).

For the topping, using handle of spoon, poke multiple holes across dough surface. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with cheese, seasoning, and garlic salt. Cover, let rise for 15 minutes while over preheats to 375°.

Bake for 15-20 minutes until cheese is browned and middle of dough is barely cooked. DO NOT OVERBAKE.

Cut into slices. Makes 8 servings.

Member Ratings For This Recipe

  • My rating might reflect the fact that I've been almost 3 weeks without any bread but pita pockets (going sugarless for 100 days)...but this was FANTASTIC!!! I used honey instead of sugar, cut back slightly on liquid, and it worked out great. I loved that it used more than half whole wheat flour, too - 8/12/10
