Italianate approach to Cottage Pie

Submitted by: RICHARD!

Number of Servings: 6

Ingredients

    Sainsburys Penne "Penne 73", 200 gram(s)
Ground beef, extra lean, 200 grams
    Onions, raw, 200 grams
    Garlic, 4 cloves
    Canned Tomatoes, 200 grams
    Mushrooms, fresh, 25 grams
    Cheddar Cheese, 70 grams
    Green Olives, 25 grams
    Capers, canned, 5 grams

Directions

Chop and put all except the penne and cheese into a casserole dish with a lid and bring to the boil. Then simmer for as long as is necessary whilst you boil the penne until cooked. Drain the penne and arrange it over the top of the casseroled ingredients then grate the cheese over the top of every thing and season to taste. Then, either put back into the oven on the top shelf, with no lid on the casserole this time, to melt the cheese and brown the top pieces of penne a little. Serves 6 generous proportions that go very well with a light salad.
