Ingredients

    1 tbsp. olive oil
    1/2 clove garlic
    1/4 cup chopped onion
    1/2 cup red wine
    1 can tomato sauce
    1 can diced tomato
    1.5 cup chicken stock
    1.5 cup water
1 lb. white fish, any kind (I use 1/2 pound of 2 different kinds)
    1/2 lb. shrimp
    12 clams
    1 tsp. old bay seasoning
    salt and pepper to taste
    1/2 imitation Alaskan King Crab

(you'll also need milk, it's not in the nutritional info because it is only used for cleaning the clams)

Directions

Prepare the clams by rinsing well then covering and soaking them in cold milk

heat olive oil in large boiling pot on medium, brown chopped onion and garlic in oil

add wine, tomato sauce, diced tomato, water, chicken stock, and old bay seasoning. bring to a simmer

while the broth simmers shell and devain the shrimp
chop the crab into 1 inch pieces
chop the fish into big pieces, at least 2 inches

remove clams from milk and rinse well under running water
add clams into broth
add fish, shrimp, and crab on top of clams

bring back to simmer then reduce heat to low and simmer for 5-10 minutes until clams have opened and fish and shrimp are fully cooked. Do not over cook or shrimp will be tough and fish will be too flakey

If you used pre-cooked shrimp add them just for the last 2-3 minutes of cooking so they can heat up without getting over cooked

Makes 8 servings, each serving is about 2 cups

Number of Servings: 8
