Mrs.Chubb's Perfect Pie Crust

Introduction

My older neighbor has been making this recipe for years. She let me in on the secret, and it is the best crust ever. My older neighbor has been making this recipe for years. She let me in on the secret, and it is the best crust ever.
Number of Servings: 5

Ingredients

    4 Cups Flour
    2 tsp Salt
    1 Tbs Sugar
    1 3/4 cups Vegetable Shortening
    1/2 Cup Water
    1 Tbs Vinegar
    1 Egg

Directions

Put first three ingredients in a large bowl. Mix well with a fork. Add shortening and mix with a pastry blender until crumbly. In a small bowl, beat water, vinegar, and egg together with a fork. Combine the two mixtures with a fork until moistened. Divide into 5 equal portions and shape into round patties ready to roll. Wrap each pattie in plastic wrap for later use. Can be kept in the refrigerator for 1 week.
