Slow-Cooker Ribs




Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    2.5 lbs pork ribs
    2 Tbs molasses
    1 c ketchup
    1/8 tsp cinnamon
    1 Tbs Dijon mustard
    1/4 tsp salt
    1 Tbs soy sauce
    5 cloves of garlic
    1/3 large onion sliced

Directions

Simmer ribs in boiling water for 15 min to release some of the fat. Put ribs in slow cooker for 2 hours then add all the other ingredients. Cook for about 6 hours on low or 4 hours on high. check after 4 hours to see how they are cooking. Length can vary. If they look a little dry, add a little catchup mixed with water. They should fall off the bone.

  • I used honey instead of molasses and 1 tsp of onion powder instead of fresh onion. Mine cooked in half the time on low in my crockpot (4 hours total). I like that some of the fat is released in boiling water before cooking. Delicious! Thank you. - 12/15/09

  • OH MY FLIPPING GOD!! I've NEVER had luck making ribs over the years so I was a little hesitant to try this, but this has got to be the best ever!!!! the only "variations" that I made was to use 1 TBS of honey rather than molasses & used about 6lbs of ribs so the kids had dinner for another day. - 11/12/09
