Campbell's French Onion Burgers

Introduction

I saw this recipe on a recipe website and changed the ground beef to ground sirloin and the american cheese to 2%. ALSO RECIPE FORGOT TO CALL FOR CAN OF WATER TO DILUTE SOUP. Ingredients

    1 Lb. ground sirloin, 1-10.5 Oz. can Campbell's Condensed French Onion Soup, 4 slices 2% american cheese, 4 wheat hard rolls or kaiser rolls.

Directions

Shape the beef into 4 (1/2" ) thick burgers. Heat a 10" skillet over med-high heat. Add the burgers and cook until they're well browned on both sides. Remove the burgers and set aside. Pour off any fat. Stir in the soup and 1 can water. Heat to a boil. Return the burgers to the skillet and reduce the heat to low. Covesr and cook 5 Min. or until the burgers are cooked through. top with cheese and continue cooking until the cheese melts. Serve burgers in rolls with soup mixture for dipping.

  • i made these with the pepperidge farms whole grain sandwich thins, and lemme tell ya... they were fantastic!! i have never liked homemade burgers, but these were soooo good i wished i had taken two to work instead of one!! yumm. thanks so much for sharing! - 10/22/09

  • I used the Campbell's version, but thought it was fine without diluting the soup since it was used for cooking the burgers. You could substitute whole wheat buns instead of dinner rolls. It's great! - 7/1/09
