2 cups flour
1/4 cup sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 cup butter, chilled
1 apple - peeled, cored, and shredded
1/2 cup milk
2 Tbsp milk
2 tsp sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
Cut in butter until crumbly.
Add apple and milk, stir to form a soft dough.
Turn dough onto a floured surface and knead gently 8 to 10 times. Cut into 12 different pieces.
Put the scones onto a greased baking sheet. Brush with milk and sprinkle cinnamon and sugar over top.
Bake at 425 degrees for 15 minutes.
