Sharon's Spaghetti Sauce

Introduction

Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    approx. 1.91 lbs ground turkey (93% fat free)
    2 garlic cloves
    1 tsp beef bullion
    1 cup boiling water
    1 8oz can and 1 15oz can of tomato sauce
    1 4oz can chopped portabello mushrooms, drained
    1 tsp worchestershire sauce
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/2 tsp sugar
    1/2 tsp crushed oregano
    1/4 tsp pepper
    1/8 tsp nutmeg
    water as needed through cooking to thin the sauce

    (or)

    1 1/2 lbs ground beef
    1/2 cup chopped onion
    1 clove garlic, crushed
    1 tablespoon shortening (usually don't need with hamburger)
    1 tsp beef bouillon
    1 cup boiling water
    2 8oz cans tomato sauce
    2/3 cups canned mushrooms, drained
    ( I use portabellos by Giorgio)
    1 tsp worchestershire sauce
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/2 tsp sugar
    1/2 tsp leaf oregano, crushed
    1/4 tsp pepper
    1/8 tsp nutmeg

Directions

Brown ground beef, onion and garlic in shortening in skillet. Dissolve
bouillon in boiling water. Add to ground beef mixture. Add remaining
ingredients. Cover and simmer 45 minutes, stirring occasionally. Uncover
and cook 15 minutes. Serve over hot spaghetti and sprinkle with grated
parmesan cheese.
