Introduction

Wonderful to smell cooking all afternoon! Great on a cold day. Meat is flavorful and tender. Wonderful to smell cooking all afternoon! Great on a cold day. Meat is flavorful and tender.
Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    2 lbs roast (chuck, arm or even stew meat)
    1 tbsp olive oil
    1 large onion chopped
    1 tsp flour
    1/4 cup beef consome
    1 cup of light beer
    1/4 tsp pepper
    1 bay leaf

Directions

Trim all fat off of meat and cut into chunky, bit sized pieces. In Dutch Oven, heat olive oil and brown meat. Take meat out and brown onions. Stir in flour and sugar until borwned. Stir in broth and beer. Bring to a boil and add meat, pepper and bay leaf. Put lid on and simmer for at least 3 hours. Server over your choice of noodles or rice (calories not included in nutrition totals). I like over egg noodles or penne pasta. I also don't take the meat out and do the sauce separately but just add it all together. Makes approximately 8 1 cup servings.
