Cheese Scones

Introduction

Number of Servings: 12

Ingredients

    2 cups self-raising flour
    1/4 tsp salt
    1 tbsp Splenda
    30gms margarine
    1 cup grated Cheese
    1/2 cup non-fat milk
    1/4 cup water
    1 tbsp extra flour

Directions

1. Pre-heat oven to 240C. Coat a baking tray with cooking spray.

2. Sift the flour, salt & Splenda into a medium bowl. using fingertips, rub the margarine & grated cheese into the flour.

3. Add the milk and water and use a knife to stir the mixture until combined and a soft dough forms.

4. Sprinkle the extra flour over a clean board and knead the scone mixture gently.
Pat dough out to 2cm thickness. Using a 5cm scone cutter, cut into rounds.
Place on the prepared tray. Coat very lightly with cooking spray. Then sprinkle a little extra cheese on top. Bake in the oven for about 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
