I make this but without the beans and the taco seasoning, I just use more salsa. I usually eat 10 cups of Romaine, 10 oz of turkey, 2 oz of spicy blue corn chips, 2 oz of 2% cheese and 14 tbsp of salsa. Mix everything but meat, cook meat then add last usually on top of the salsa and mix it in. - 11/21/08

I used ff cheese, the lowest sod chips I could find. I also subituted my own sauce. Lemon Juice, chili powder, chili peppers and tad low sod soy to make my own chili sauce it was great w/ a dab of ff sour cream. First time I have ever enjoyed ground turkey. Also good on top of a small baked potatoe. - 3/21/09

My Turkey Taco Salad has 163 more calories. However, I use a whole oz of tortilla chips and 3 oz of turkey. I don't use beans either. We have Taco Night once a week and while the kiddos have tacos, we have taco salad. My husband makes our "taco seasoning" from scratch so we control the salt. - 5/8/13

To stretch the recipe and add flavor, I dice fresh zucchini in and add to the browned turkey, then add the taco seasoning (you can find lower sodium versions in the supermarket if you don't want to mix your own). I add the zucchini last so it doesn't get mushy, and leave out the beans. Light & yum! - 5/8/13

If salt/fat is the problem I make this style of salad w/ flour tortillas instead of corn chips. I take a small-ish metal (oven-proof) bowl and bend the tortilla into a bowl shape and heat in a medium oven for 10-12 minutes. Once golden, it needs to rest a few minutes to harden. Fill w/salad/meat. - 8/18/12

Make sure to buy the leanest white ground turkey you can find. I sprayed a pan with non stick cooking oil and then cooked the turkey with chopped onions and garlic. Then I added my own chili powder and cumin. Used salt free home made tortilla chips from corn tortillas. I then added a ton of veggies! - 6/25/12

Delish!I put the chips in the bottom of a pie tin sprayed with pam. Then goes in the cooked turkey & onion, then the beans, then the cheese. Under the broiler & when it bubbles, add the luttuce, all kinds! Fresh tomato & a 1/4 avocado, celentro & salsa is the "dressing".NoTacoPacket, cummin & chili pd - 3/16/12
