Ingredients

1 1/2 cup all purpose flour
    1/2 cup white sugar
    2 tsp baking powder
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/4 cup butter
    1 cup chocolate chips
    1 egg
    1/4 cup milk
1 (21 oz) can cherry pie filling

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350. Coat a 2 quart baking dish with cooking spray. Set aside. Melt chocolate chips in microwave, stirring every 20 seconds until smooth. Let stand for 5 minutes to cool slightly.
2. In a medium bowl, stir together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in butter until the dough is a uniform crumbly texture. Beat the egg into the melted chocolate chips, then stir in the milk. Pour the chocolate mixture into the dry ingredients, and stir until well blended.
3. Pour the cherry pie filling in an even layer in the bottom of the greased dish. Drop spoonfuls of the chocolate batter over the cherries in a random pattern.
4. Bake for 40-45 minutes in the preheated oven, until top crust is not doughy when lifted. Serve warm.
