Introduction

This version of cauliflower with cubed potatoes has a fragrant taste from combining the urad dal and green chili peppers. Its like dressing in simple black but, looking elegant!! Number of Servings: 4

Ingredients

    Cauliflower, raw, .5 head, medium (5-6" dia) cut into small florets.
    Red Potato, 100 grams, cubed small.
    Olive Oil, 1.5 tsp
    Indian Andhra mustard seeds ( small, dark brown) 1/2tsp, 1 gram(s)
    Split Black Gram (Urad Dal) Laxmi brand, 1tsp.
    *Hot fresh green Chili Peppers, 1 pepper

Directions

Heat oil in a wok and drop mustard seeds in it. When it starts to krackle, drop the urad dal and when you don't hear any popping, drop the split green chili pepper, potatoes and stir well. Drop the caulifloer florets, 1/4-1/2 cup of water depending upon the power of heat from your stove ( electrics do need more water) .Add salt to taste stir well and cook on high heat till tender. A deliciously fragrant side dish, taught by my MIL.
