Shrimp w/ basil-caper sauce

Ingredients

    2 tbs olice oil, divided
    1/2 cup chopped onion, divided
    4 garlic cloves, minced, divided
    1 1/4 lb shelled dveined shrimp
    3 1/2 cups diced tomato, canned
    1/4 cup drained capers, rinsed
    2 tbl chopped fresh basil

Directions

In nonstick skillet heat 1/2 of the oil: add 1/2 each onion & garlic and saute briefly, about 2 min. Add shrimp and cook over high heat, stirring contantly just until shrimp turn pink. Immediately transfer mixture to bowl and set aside.
In same skillet heat remaining oil; add remaining onion & garlic sauteeing briefly. Add tomatoes and bring to a boil; add capers & basil and cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally for 15-20 min. Add shrimp mixture and cook just until heated through. Serve over hot linguini.
