Simple Salisbury Steak

Introduction

Ingredients

    1 can cream of mushroom soup 98% fat free
    1 pound of extra lean ground beef
    1 egg, beaten
    1/4 minced onion
    1 small can mushrooms (fresh can be substituted)

Directions

In a bowl, mix thoroughly 2 Tablespoons of soup, beef, bread crumbs, egg and onion. Shape firmly into 6 oval patties. In a non stick skillet or frying pan, over medium heat, cook patties until browned, spoon off fat, set patties aside. Stir in pan the remaining soup and mushrooms. return patties to pan or skillet, simmer for 20 minutes, or more if you like. You can even put this in a crock pot if you want it ready in 2 - 3 hours! Serve over hot rice or egg noodles.
