Lean Turkey & Bean Chili

Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    1 cup kidney beans, dry and uncooked
    8 oz (1/2 lb) ground turkey
    1 onion, chopped
    2 cloves garlic, chopped
    28 oz canned diced tomatoes
    16 oz low sodium tomato sauce
    2 tbsp chili powder
    1 tsp ground turmeric
    1 tsp ground cumin
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/2 tsp pepper

Directions

Cook beans as directed

Cook turkey and drain

Mix all ingredients except beans in a pot. Cook on medium-low for 3 - 4 hours

Add cooked beans and cook on medium-high for 15 - 20 minutes or until slightly thickened.
