1 lb lean ground beef (96% lean)
large jar of Prego spaghetti sauce (5 cups)
24 oz container of low fat cottage cheese (I used Breakstone's 2%)
8 - 10 lasagne noodles, uncooked
3 cups mozzarella (I used Kraft part skim)
Combine egg (beaten) with cottage cheese in separate bowl.
Layer half of ground beef mixture in crockpot, then half the dry noodles and then the cottage cheese mixture. Add half the mozzarella on top and repeat for another layer.
Cover and cook on high 4-5 hours, or on low 6-8 hours.
You can use ground turkey or leave the meat out entirely. Add peppers, onions and spices to taste (will change the nutritional content).
