Whole Wheat & Flax Bread

Introduction

Sometimes you just want bread.

The Flax adds a little nutty flavor and fiber to this bread.

I use my bread machine to make the dough, then bake it in a large bread pan.

Number of Servings: 18

Ingredients

    Water 1 1/2 cups + 2 TBSP
    Salt 1 1/2 tsp
    Butter 2 TBSP
    Honey 2 TBSP
    DryMilk, powdered nonfat 2 TBSP
    Molasses, unsulphured 1 TBSP
    Wheat Gluten 1 1/2 TBSP
    Flaxseed Meal (Bob's Red Mill Gound) 2 TBSP
    Whole Wheat Flour 3 1/2 Cups
    Yeast 2 1/8 tsp fast rise
    (or 3 tsp active dry)

Directions

1. Place all ingredients into bread machine.
2. Set the machine to Dough cycle.
Run the cycle TWICE
3. Grease & flour a Large bread pan.
4. Punch dough down , shape into loaf, put in pan.
5. Let rise for 1 hour or
until double in size.
6. Bake at 375ยช F. for 25 to 30 minutes.
(tap bottom of bread if it sounds hollow its done.)
7. Cool on cookie rack.

Yield Large loaf, (2 lb. loaf) 18 slices
serving size 1 slice
