IntroductionMade with "real" beef (not ground beef) and braised for a long time to fully tenderize the meat. Absolutely delicious! 1 pound boneless beef round or beef tips, cut into 1-inch cubes
3/4 cup chopped onion
1 T butter
1 cup water or broth
1 T worcestershire sauce
1 package sliced fresh mushrooms (@ 2 cups)
1/2 cup reduced fat sour cream
1/2 cup plain yogurt (I use Dannon's Natural Yogurt)
1/4 cup flour
Saute beef and onions in butter until meat is browned. Add water (or broth) and worcestershire sauce.. Cover and simmer for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until the meat is super tender, stirring occassionally. Add mushrooms during the last 10 minutes of cooking time.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Combine sour cream, yogurt, and flour. Cook 5 minutes or until sauce is thickened.
Serve over egg noodles or mashed potatoes.
