Tangy Dippng Sauce

Submitted by: OTWTEACHER

Introduction

This tangy sauce is a snap to make and goes with vegetables, meats, pita bread - just about anything. It is an adaptation of a recipe I saw on Sandra Lee's "Semi-Homemade" but I cut the calorie content down by eliminating straight honey and using honey mustard and Splenda. It can serve 4-6 as a dipping sauce or it can be drizzled over food and go further. My family doesn't want me to make traditional gravy any more - they ask me for the brown stuff. Ingredients

    4 Tablespoons good balsamic vinegar
2 Tablespoons your favorite brand honey mustard
2 Tablespoons Splenda (or more for your taste)

Directions

Combine vinegar and mustard in a non-reactive sauce pan and heat until boiling. Reduce heat and stir in sweetener. Let simmer until reduces to desired thickness. Taste and adjust for tanginess by adding a bit more sweetener if necessary. Serve separately as a dipping sauce or spoon over food like a gravy/sauce.
