Whole Wheat Italian Pasta Spirals

Submitted by: FDOODLES

Introduction

Yet another "throw it all together" recipe, made with things I happened to have on hand. Turned out pretty good, a sweet tomato pasta dish. You could add any type of veggie to this, I ate it with some canned no-salt green beans mixed in. Yet another "throw it all together" recipe, made with things I happened to have on hand. Ingredients

7 oz (1/2 box) Heartland Whole Wheat Rontini Pasta
1 can S&W Stewed Italian Recipe Tomatoes with oregano & basil
10 oz Foster Farms Ground Turkey (lean)
    1 Tbsp Splenda
    1 Tbsp Balsamic Vinegar

Directions

--Boil the pasta according to the directions on the box.
--Brown the ground turkey in a non-stick skillet over medium to medium-high heat (I used leftovers).
--Puree the tomatoes and add the splenda and balsamic vinegar to them. I also added about 1/2 tsp of Italian Seasoning blend.
--Add the tomato mixture to the skillet with the ground turkey, also add the parmesan cheese. simmer until the pasta is done.
--Drain the pasta and add it to the skillet. Simmer until everything is heated through.
--NOTE: If using leftover turkey that is already cooked, you can heat the tomato/turkey mixture in the microwave and then combine with the pasta.
--Makes approximately 6 cups, 6 servings.
