Introduction

Low calorie alternative to a sweet breakfast or snack. Low calorie alternative to a sweet breakfast or snack.
Number of Servings: 18

Ingredients

    1 1/2 c flour
    1/2 c sugar
    3 tsp baking powder
    1 c milk
    227 grams applesauce
    1 egg
    1/2 c semisweet chocolate chips
    1/3 c wheat germ
    1/4 c water

Directions

Mix all ingredients by hand then fold in choclate chips. Cook muffins in greased muffin tins at 375 degrees for about 20 minutes.

  • We tried this recipe twice and both times the muffins came out very doughy in the middle. Even with baking longer than 25 minutes. They did not rise much at all either. Sorry! - 6/19/09
