Variations On a Theme: Fruit Smoothie with Whole Milk Yogurt & Flax Seed Meal

Submitted by: WANDERLUSTK

Introduction

This results in quite a thick smoothie. Pomegranate juice or low-fat milk can be added if you don't want it so thick, or simply replace some of the frozen fruit with fresh fruit.

Trim some calories by using nonfat yogurt and/or soy milk.

Ingredients

    Cherries, frozen
    Peaches, frozen
    Strawberries, frozen
    Yogurt
    Soy milk
    Flax seed meal

Directions

Starting with the yogurt and soy milk, add ingredients a little at a time to blender, pulsing to crush frozen fruit, then blending until desired consistency. Pour into glasses and serve.

This recipe lends itself well to freezing. Just pour into a plastic tumbler (glass may crack) and set in freezer until you're ready for a delicious frozen fruit treat.
