Chicken Pita

Submitted by: 2PENNY1

Introduction

Rough idea of the nutrition of a home-made chicken pita. The chicken breast is marinaded in home-made Italian dressing before grilling, but I couldn't sort out how to indicate that with this interface, so that would probably add some unsaturated fat and sodium. Ingredients

    Marinade:
3 parts olive or vegetable oil to one part cider vinegar
2-3 tablespoons of dried italian herbs
3-4 large cloves of garlic, crushed and chopped
    2 tsp black pepper
    1 tbls salt

    4 boneless skinless chicken breasts

    Salad stuff

    Favourite salad dressing

Directions

Place chicken in marinade for at least 3-4 hours or as long as a day and a bit.

Grill about 8 mins each side either outside or in a very hot oven straight on the grill with a water filled pan underneath to catch drippings. (This can make a lot of steam, so don't be shocked if your smoke alarm goes off when you open the oven).

Slice largest piece at thickest point to make sure there's no pink (cook a few minutes longer if there is).

When done, slice, stuff into pita with salads and dressing. Enjoy.
