Introduction

I usually use my great big crock pot but a very large stock pot on the stove would work. Just keep it a medium simmer. I usually use my great big crock pot but a very large stock pot on the stove would work. Just keep it a medium simmer.
Number of Servings: 24

Ingredients

    1 lb. great northern beans, soaked and rinsed
    1 lb. navy beans, soaked and rinsed
    1 box Trader Joe's Organic Chicken Broth, Low Sodium (4 cups)
    1 1/4 lb. extra lean ground turkey
    1 tsp. garlic salt
    8 cloves garlic, minced
    1/2 Tbsp. Classico Pesto Sauce
    1/2 Tbsp onion powder
    10 c. water

Directions

Put all beans in a pot with broth and water and bring to a boil. Cut it back to a simmer and add seasonings and most of garlic. Once the beans are almost tender, brown the ground turkey with the remaining garlic in the olive oil. Strain and add to pot. Simmer another 15 minutes or so.
Should take about 2 1/2 hours of simmering total. Makes about 20 1-cup servings.
