Low-Fat Bolognese Sauce

Introduction

Ingredients

    Onions, raw, 1 cup, chopped (remove)
    Carrots, raw, .25 cup, chopped (remove)
    93% Lean Ground Beef, 8 oz (remove)
    Garlic, 3 cloves (remove)
    Red Wine, 2.5 fl oz (remove)
    Salt, .25 tsp (remove)
    Fennel seed, .25 tsp (remove)
    Pepper, black, .25 tsp (remove)
    Del Monte Diced Tomatoes, No Salt Added, 3.5 cup (remove)

Directions

Heat a large non-stick skillet over med-high heat, and coat with non-stick cooking spray. Add onion, carrot and garlic, cook until onions are soft. Add beef, breaking it up as it browns. Add wine, cook 1-2 minutes. Add salt, fennel, pepper and tomatoes, bring to a boil. Cover and reduce heat - simmer 40 minutes.
