Turkey Sausage and Apples

Introduction

Using home-made apple jelly and self canned apples, this makes for a really quick meal. Steam some rice and green beans for a complete meal. Using home-made apple jelly and self canned apples, this makes for a really quick meal. Steam some rice and green beans for a complete meal.

Ingredients

    14 oz pkg of Louis Rich Turkey Sausage (RF)
    4 cups of sliced green apples, without peeling
    8 oz jar of apple jelly
    2 tbsp butter

Directions

Slice sausage length wise and cut in half again for 8 equal size half-links, brown in skillet. Remove sausage, keep warm. Melt 2 tbsp butter in pan, then add jelly and simmer on low for 5 minutes or so. Add apples and sausage and simmer for another 10 minutes to heat through. Makes 4 servings (2 links each) of approximately 3.5 oz each. Serve with steamed rice and green beans for a complete meal under 600 calories.
