Christen's Protein Bars

Submitted by: CROPER2

Introduction

This is the base recipe. I make this recipe, then stir in various add-ins, like...raisins, cranberries, dried blueberries, Goji berries, dried apricots, slivered almonds, chopped walnuts, unsalted sunflower seeds, groats, etc. I suggest using only dried fruits. Number of Servings: 15

Ingredients

3 1/2 cups Quaker Old Fashioned Oats
    1 1/2 cup Powdered, Non-Fat Milk
4 scoops low carb vanilla protein powder ( I like Aria Designer Whey Vanilla Protein Powder)
    2 egg whites, beaten
    1 cup sugar-free maple syrup
    1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
    1 tsp vanilla
    1/4 cup orange juice

Directions

Preheat oven to 325. Spray a 13x9 pan & set aside. Stir dry ingredients together with wooden spoon & set aside. Mix wet ingredients together with a whisk until well blended. Stir wet ingredients into dry ingredients with wooden spoon until well blended. (If making with add-ins, stir in now) Spread into baking dish…will be fairly thick, like consistency of cookie dough. Bake 20-25 mins, until edges are browned. Cut as desired. (I make 15-18 bars)
