I thought that this recipe was excellent! I did add 1 tsp. of vanilla and about 5 tbs. of water to the recipe but they came out great!! I used low fat devil's good cake mix so I got 18 brownies out of the batch for 106 calories per brownie!!! - 4/2/09

These are fantastic, I have also made them with spice cake, i added 1/2 c water and made 24 muffins, less then a 100 calories. Going to try other cake mixes also. - 4/2/09

This is the 2nd time I've made these. The first time was with the box mix and they were really pumpkinny. The 2nd time was so much better! I used Giradelli's ultimate brownie mix, 2T water, 1/2t real vanilla at 325 for 35 min. I couldn't taste the pumpkin this time!!! Sinfully delicious & real moist - 4/25/09

I love this recipe. It's very similar to Hungry Girl's recipe but she adds no water, cooks at 400 for 20 minutes and makes them into muffins. My favorite version of this is using butter pecan cake mix with pumpkin, absolutely fabulous!! - 4/18/09

Made these tonight and they are so good! I used Pillsburry but next time I am using Duncan Hines Devils food (my favorite). I forgot to add vanilla but they were so good! I baked them at 340 degress for 25 mins. next time I'll go only 20 mins so they are more fudgy. Definitely a keeper! - 4/8/09

I made this and was really disappointed, esp. after reading all the fabulous reviews. (So it must just be me.) But I thought they were bland and tasteless and just needed "something" (like maybe oil and eggs, hahahaha)? I would not make this again. - 4/18/09

Perfectly satisfying! Added some cinnamon to the mix, I am big fan of Mexican chocolate, it was just the right touch. Super yum! - 4/16/09

It has more of a cake-like texture and you really can't taste the pumpkin. My lil son was shocked that there was pumpkin in them! He said, "But they're so chocolatey, Mum!" He definitely wants me to make them again! So, Mum tested and kid approved! Thank you! ^^ - 4/18/09

I can't wait to try this recipe! I never thought about trying a chocolate cake mix. I like to mix a 15 oz. can of pumpkin into a carrot cake mix (NO water added). These two ingredients makes wonderful Pumpkin Cookies! A few chocolate chips thrown in and I'm instantly my grandson's favorite grammy!!! - 4/7/09

I LOVE these! My son can taste the difference so I am going to add a few chocolate chips to sweeten the deal for his. The spice cake mix and pumpkin also makes a wonderful muffin! - 4/3/09

I have been making this recipe for a about 4 years. (Now, I don't put fudge frosting on them!) Adding a little more water, about 10 oz and beating it longer, it comes out more cake like. It does work VERY well with carrot cake mix, too. - 4/2/09

Very good! I would consider this cake, rather than brownies and I served it with a whipped topping. - 4/21/09

Fantastic! I have made them twice now. 1st time, I used Reduced Sugar Devils food Cake & cooked at 325 for 20 minutes, they were a little gooey (fudgy) but A+! 2nd time, I used regular Devils Food Mix & baked at 325 for 30 minutes. This time a little more dry & cake like. Try cooking for 25 min. - 4/18/09

Great recipe for cake-like treat! DW likes pumpkin, but it was too masked by the chocolate. Will take recommendation to use spice cake mix, or white cake. Maybe a little cinnamon or nutmeg. Also, might try brownie mix instead of cake. Great ideas, great recipe. Thanks! - 11/9/09

I've made these before with with white cake mix. I like the idea of using the spice cake mix too. I love pumpkin and am always looking for new ways to use it. - 10/25/09

I used brownie mix instead of cake mix. it was better when it was warm right out the oven. I have had similiar brownies that use pureed black beans instead of pumpkin. I like the pumpkin better. - 5/10/09

A little tip I like when using chocolate cake and brownie mixes-in place of the water-use equal amount of cold brewed coffee-this recipe would be good as a mexican style brownie with a litte cinnamon and chili powder for kick. - 5/5/09

not sure what I did wrong, but these leave an aftertaste and are not very good. I'm going to try again with the spice cake and hope for better results - 4/25/09
