This is the 2nd time I've made these. The first time was with the box mix and they were really pumpkinny. The 2nd time was so much better! I used Giradelli's ultimate brownie mix, 2T water, 1/2t real vanilla at 325 for 35 min. I couldn't taste the pumpkin this time!!! Sinfully delicious & real moist - 4/25/09

I can't wait to try this recipe! I never thought about trying a chocolate cake mix. I like to mix a 15 oz. can of pumpkin into a carrot cake mix (NO water added). These two ingredients makes wonderful Pumpkin Cookies! A few chocolate chips thrown in and I'm instantly my grandson's favorite grammy!!! - 4/7/09

Fantastic! I have made them twice now. 1st time, I used Reduced Sugar Devils food Cake & cooked at 325 for 20 minutes, they were a little gooey (fudgy) but A+! 2nd time, I used regular Devils Food Mix & baked at 325 for 30 minutes. This time a little more dry & cake like. Try cooking for 25 min. - 4/18/09

I tried this recipe knowing full well that I was going to get groans and complaints because it is low cal.But to my surprise, everyone loved it! I used a carrot cake mix minus the additions,2 tbsp water,1 tsp vanilla,1 can pumpkin and 1/2 c butterscotch chips. It was heavenly.Serve warm w/ cool whip - 11/16/09

For those of you who gave these four or five stars are you serious???? You have to be really really REALLY craving chocolate on your diet. These were Horrible!! How can you say you don't taste the pumpkin? I had to throw the whole pan away not even my grandson who loves chocolate would eat it! AWFUL - 5/19/12

I just made this recipe and my husband, kids and I love them. I agree it's still more like cake but i'm ok with that. And I can taste the pumpkin- it's not overpowering but good. I also added a few pecans to the top before I baked- that was a good addition too. Just remember to add the calories.
