1 large onion, diced small
3 cans red kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 cup Kraft original barbecue sauce
2 T French's Spicy Brown Mustard
1 T Splenda
1 T chili powder
Spray a large pan with Pam spary. Add the onion, cook, stirring frequently until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add the beans, the BBQ sauce, mustard, Splenda, and chili powder. Mix. Pour the mixture into the baking dish. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Uncover and bake 15 minutes longer. The beans will be bubbly.
Makes 8, generous 1/2 cup servings.
This can be made with any beans. Black, pinto and chili beans all work fine. You can also cook 1# of dried beans and use them. It is a very versitle recipe. Red pepper sauce will add a zip if you like a little heat.
