Red White and Blue...and Green...Smoothie

Submitted by: TEXANBUTTERFLY

Introduction

I took this recipe from a raw food website and changed it up a bit to lower the amount of sugar, but if you don't watch carbs then go ahead and add some more banana and/or blueberries! :) I took this recipe from a raw food website and changed it up a bit to lower the amount of sugar, but if you don't watch carbs then go ahead and add some more banana and/or blueberries! :)
Number of Servings: 1

Ingredients

    * 1 Tbsp chia seeds (allow to sit in about 3 Tbsp water in the fridge for about 10-12 min to let it become a gel)
    * 2 eggs, raw and uncooked (fresh and cold!) (start with one if you have never tried it before but they really don't have any taste when they are raw so no worries...and you get some great protein, vitamins, and minerals!)
    * 1 cup spinach
    * 3/4 cup frozen blueberries (regular are ok, just add more ice to the smoothie)
    * 3 medium strawberries
    * 1/3 of a small banana
    (if not a raw foodist you can add yogurt or some other dairy product to thicken, or just add more banana)

Directions

MIx chia seeds and water in a cup and place inside refridgerator for about 10-12 min.
After the chia seeds have created a gel-like substance, place in blender and add the other ingredients.
Add water and ice to desired consistency, probably about 1/2-1 cup for both and BAM...you got your smoothie:)

...and don't give up if its not the taste for you :) Change my recipe up to fit your needs!! Have a great day!!!! :)
