Chicken & Sausage Tomato Sauce

Introduction

Excellent sauce over any dish of your choice. We serve it over whole wheat psata.
Makes a lot of servings, and freezes really well for later use.
We divide it up and store in the freezer for quick meals.

Number of Servings: 26

Ingredients

    2 cans Aylmer diced tomatoes 28 oz each
    1 can tomato paste, 5oz
    3/4 cup red wine
    4 garlic cloves minced
    1 tablespoon olive oil
    1 pound ground chicken
    3 Italian sausage links, casings removed
    2 tsp onion powder
    1 tablespoon ground oregano
    2 tablespoons fresh chopped basil
    5 tsp Splenda

Directions

Makes 26 - 1/2 cup servings

1. Brown ground chicken & sausages until throughly cooked, breaking up sausages as you cook. Set aside.
2. Saute minced garlic in olive oil for 3 minutes. Add tomatoes, paste, wine, meats, and spices & splenda. Stir together & bring to rolling boil. Reduce heat & simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
Serve 1/2 cup per person over pasta or whatever you choose.
