Jodi's Spagetti Dinner

Introduction

This is a wonderful dinner for 8 or just for 2 because you can freeze what you do not eat.

This is a wonderful dinner for 8 or just for 2 because you can freeze what you do not eat.


Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    1 lb lean ground beef 93/7
    1 jar Chunky Ragu Garden Combination
    1 tbls blue bonnet light margarine
    1 red bell pepper
    1/2 yellow bell pepper
    1/2 green bell pepper
    1 med. onion
    3 cloves of garlic
    1 cup fresh sliced mushrooms
    1 cup diced tomatoes (I use one large tomato) but 1 can will do just fine.
    1 tbls Italian seasoning
    2 packets of equal
    16 oz of smart taste thin pasta (2oz per serving)
    8 tablespoons parmesan cheese (fresh)

    Salad
    2 cups leafy romaine lettuce
    1 cup cherry tomatoes
    1 cup shredded carrots
    16 tbls portmans light salad dressing
    8 tablespoons parmesan cheese

    Bread Sticks
    4 slices of natures own 100% sugar free wheat bread
    2 tablespoons blue bonnet light margarine
    1 tablespoon garlic powder
    2 tablespoons parmesan cheese





Directions

In a large skillet brown hamburger meat. While meat is browning chop up your veggies, putting mushrooms and tomatoes to the side.
When meat is browned, drain and keep to the side. Put butter into your pan, and saute onions, garlic, and bell pepper after about 2 min add mushrooms and saute for another min. Add hamburger meat, sauce, Italian seasoning, equal and tomatoes.
salt and pepper to taste (not in nutritional info)

Turn down heat and let simmer for about 2 hours.
This can also be made int he Crock pot, just do the prep, and cook for about 8 hours on low.

While sauce is cooking make your salad it is nothing fancy just basic stuff.

Cook pasta as directed on box, and top with 1 cup of sauce and 1 tablespoon fresh parmasian, put 1 tablespoon parmasian on the salad as well.

When making bread sticks, cut each piece of bread into 4 equal slices.
Melt 2 tablespoon blue bonnet light margarine
add garlic.
Dip each piece of bread into butter garlic mixture
place onto a cookie sheet top with 2 tablespoons parmesan cheese.
Broil for about 3 min. or until crispy enough for you.

Each person should get 2 garlic sticks
